Anahita Social Engine

For the past 18 months Peerglobe Technology and rmdStudio have been collaboratively working on developing  Anahita Social Engine.

Anahita Social Engine is a social web platform based on Google Open Social that allows developers to easily build anything with a social context. You might immediately think about social networks, however social networks are just one of many examples of web applications with a social context. Other good examples are Social Intranets, Social Project Managements and many more.

In a nutshell Anahita Social Engine provides core social services out of the box such as

  1. Registration & Authentication
  2. User profiles
  3. Privacy Controls
  4. User activities  and news feed
  5. Social Graphs
  6. System wide messaging such as public and private message, notifications and emails

Moreover Anahita Social Engine provides Deep Integrations and many hooks for the third party application to fuse themselves into the social engine. Some of these integration points are

  1. Profile Gadget Box
  2. Canvas Page
  3. User Activities and News feed
  4. Email and Notifications
  5. Requests
  6. Privacy Control

In addition there are many more tools provided by the Social Engine that would let the developer to focus more on building their application and less on building supportive libraries. Some of these tools are

  • Taxonomy and Folksonomy support  libraries
  • Virtual File Systems - supports Local , Amazon S3 File System. It can also be extended to support any custom file systems.
  • and many more

Anahita Social Engine has been built as a Joomla Extension. However it uses Nooku MVC framework (codename Koowa). Nooku is an agile MVC development framework with rich database interaction support. Nooku framework has been built by the folks at Joomlatools  who were once the core Joomla developers and the major contributors to that project. Nooku framework is installed as plug-in on Joomla and it is capable of upgrading most of the Joomla core functionality but maintaining the compatibility for the third party Joomla extensions.

At the time Anahita Social Engine is not available publicly ( public GPL release is few months away)  however we are already deploying solutions for clients, and for those who hire us, we include and distribute their names around the globe with every copy of Anahita technology which is being downloaded.
